Autumn leaves (solo)

Can you tell Clapton is one of my favorite musicians — if not my favorite?

I don't usually do solos… except when they are a masterpiece that remains in your head forever after hearing it.

Also, I have this valve amplifier sitting in my room (very gently entrusted to me by my friend Paolo), and I love that I can finally get that singing Telecaster tone from his early years, so I felt compelled to record something.

The falling leaves drift by the window
The autumn leaves of red and gold

I see your lips the summer kisses
The sunburned hands I used to hold

Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I'll hear old winter's song

But I miss you most of all, my darling,
When autumn leaves start to fall
